Full Job Description
***Will be required to obtain a Public Trust if an active security clearance is not already held***
Help with strategizing and planning data migration from a legacy enterprise business objects system to the cloud. Help to architect, design, oversee development of data mapping and migration processes, optimize database system(s), ensure data integrity & security. Tasks include:
- Understand data migration requirements and needs
- Audit existing data systems and deployment, identify errors and areas for improvement
- Oversee data migration
- Test systems
- Document strategies on data migration processes, fixes and adjustments
- Develop and propose data migration best practices
- Ensure compliance
- Ensure data security, through migration and landing process
- Ensure performance optimization – establishing table structures, indexing, etc., ensuring database/application speed requirements
- Focus on migration of the data, accuracy of data migration
- Computer Science or equivalent field
- Data Migration Architect work
- Data visualization, data migration, and data modeling
- Database and cloud computing design and architecture
- Machine learning, predictive modeling and natural language processing
- Cloud migration to AWS
- Programming: Python, R, SQL
- Data synchronization of SQL databases
- Data protection and data governance
- Database systems and software
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Willingness to work long hours, beyond what would be considered ‘standard’, ability to work productively in an office environment, with multiple teams
Required Technical Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud technologies like AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.
- Minimum 5 years of data cloud migration
- Minimum 5 years of Python, R and SQL experience
- Demonstrated experience in supporting a production, testing, integration, and development environments
- Demonstrated experience in performing root cause analysis in complex and distributed environments
- Minimum 5 years DevOps experience
- Minimum 5 years of ITIL experience
Preferred Technical Skills:
- Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, and/or related field is preferred or 7+ years of relevant experience
- Amazon AWS Certifications: i.e. AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner is preferred
- Experience with Business Intelligence tool (specifically SAP HANA and PowerBI) administration, including experience creating user roles/permissions, plugin deployment, SDK integration, etc.
