Responsible for requirements and configuration management, system hardware configuration, and for the conduct of the life cycle activities and control gates related to the design, development, test, implementation, transition, and operations and maintenance of the TONS systems.  

The Senior Systems Engineer works independently of any direct supervision and shall provide technical direction and guidance to lower-level professional software personnel involved in performing security related engineering tasks. The Senior Systems Engineer formulates and develops security related aspects of the systems or subsystems architecture and develops the security related documentation. 

The functions of this role shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Identify security control requirements
  • Maintain system security configuration
  • Plan code scanning to identify vulnerabilities
  • Support achievement of Authority to Test (ATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO)
  • Manage and review security logs and taking required actions
  • Perform as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the U, S, and TS enclaves

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree required in engineering, computer science, information sciences, or related field, or equivalent in experience and expertise
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience performing highly complex software engineering activities using “state-of-the-art”, as defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), software engineering concepts and software techniques
  • Ten (10) or more years of information assurance and cyber security engineering experience
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • One (1) or more years of experience with Jira.
  • Must Have TS/SCI clearance

Additional Notes:

  • Additional job duties include:
  • Ensures security controls are in place and operational
  • Support the execution of scans and security related tests
  • Manages security logs
  • Ensure that all required security patches are applied and all application components are updated
  • The position requires coordination with customer and other security organizations as required based on the hosting configurations
  • Support the achievement of certification and accreditation (C&A) of the system and all future recertification

Salary Range: $175,000 – $195,000

**Salary is commensurate with education and experience**
